Ending An Event

Kurt Hansen -

If your event has occurred or you want to cut off registration, you have a few options.

  • Edit the top portion of the landing page informing visitors that registration has ended.
    1. Log into your control panel.
    2. Go to the first page and click on the editable portion of the page at the top. Editable portions are identified by a box with a dotted-line border.
  • Set the quantity of the tickets to 1 so they are marked as sold out.
    1. Go to Registration Pages -> Find/Edit Tickets.
    2. Choose your event from the drop-down and click "Select Tickets."
    3. For each ticket, click the "Edit" button. In the pop-up, enter 1 in the quantity box and submit.
  • Alternatively, you can delete the tickets instead. However, if you hope to copy this event sometime in the future, you will have to recreate the tickets. Thus, copy the event first before deleting the tickets.
    1. Go to Registration Pages -> Find/Edit Tickets.
    2. Choose your event from the drop-down and click "Select Tickets."
    3. For each ticket, click the "Del" button. In the pop-up, click on "Yes".
  • It might be a good idea to add a donation ticket so people can still make a donation or add a link to your donation page.
    1. Go to the article on Creating An Event to see how to add a ticket that allows people to set the price, i.e. a donation ticket.
  • If you don't want people to see the registration page at all, you can retire the event. This will change the URL of the page and make it non-functional. You should consider this after the event has passed. This will allow you to copy the event later by taking it out of retirement and copying the event.
  1. Go to Registration Pages -> Find/Edit Events.
  2. Find your event in the list and click on the "Edit" button.
  3. In the ensuing pop-up, choose "inactive" from the drop-down on the upper right labeled "Event Status" and submit.
